Pioneer Congregational Church started in 1849, 170 years ago and is one of the oldest churches West of the Mississippi. Just imagine how many couples have exchanged vows in Pioneer Church since then and began their happily-ever-after. Your wedding is unique and deserves the care and attention of an unrepeatable event. Our staff is dedicated to creating an occasion that reflects your own special relationship and circumstances.
You will be impressed with the sheer beauty of Pioneer Congregational Church. The church was built in 1926 facing Sutter’s Fort making us a historic part of Sacramento. It was built in the Mission Revival-style so popular at the time, and still so timelessly beautiful today.
Our purpose is to collaborate with you in celebrating and marking your special day with a beautiful ceremony. We welcome couples of all faiths, sexual orientations, and gender identities. We value love, joy, new beginnings, and celebrating older ones. All families are welcome.
Our staff is eager to handle your questions which may arise as you proceed toward your vows. Should you decide our kind of ceremony is for you, we promise you our warm and prayerful support as you prepare for this momentous occasion and your subsequent life together.
Pioneer Congregational Church is a congregation of the United Church of Christ. We honor and enjoy diversity of beliefs held by our members. We find that unity in Jesus Christ and celebrating our differences add to the richness and strength of our life together. We are an LGBTQ+ affirming church that proclaims the joy of knowing God, seeks to follow in the way of Jesus, grows in faith and hope, and serves in ways that foster love and compassion toward others.
