Please join us on Saturday, November 30 at 1:00 PM and help us decorate the sanctuary for the Christmas holiday season. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Join us for a lively discussion of the Hard Sayings of Jesus, based on the book of the same name by F.F. Bruce.

Bible study will meet on Wednesday, November 20 at 6:30 PM in the Pastor's Office. Go here to download the discussion guide for this week's lesson. You may also connect with the study on Zoom. Contact the pastor for the Zoom link.

CoWorking Office Space @ Pioneer

We are looking for persons who would like to work out of one of our offices or use our many common rooms as a place to work. Mainly geared for those who work from home, our coworking space sharing is a great way at an affordable price to work in a peaceful atmosphere. Spread the news, tell your friends, and let us use these office spaces that have sat empty throughout the week. For more information, please call the church office.

Food Pantry Donations

We collect non-perishable food pantry donations and travel-sized toiletries on Sunday, December 15. We will collect and dedicate them during the service and then take the donated food to the South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership’s Food Closet and the toiletries to Wind Youth Services during the week.

Tour of the Sanctuary

Dr. Elliot Jones, our music director, leads a tour of the sanctuary that includes the building architecture, explaining the history of the various stained glass windows, and offers a history of our organ and plays on it to show it's capabilities. The next Tour happens on Saturday, December 14 at 12:00 Noon. Invite your friends to this lovely tour as it is a great way to introduce them to our historic building and church.

GoFundMe for Karen S.

As many of our church members and friends are aware, our own Karen S. has had her cancer return. To help with her expenses, a GoFundMe page has been set up. While the financial goal on the page has been met, new information about her condition means she'll need more help. We invite you to give to help defray her unexpected costs of treatment. Prayer Ministry

We have a vibrant prayer ministry in our church. Heidi Munoz collects prayer requests, emails them out to our prayer champions, and we pray over all prayer requests each and every Sunday. If you have a prayer request, please send an email to Heidi at prayingpioneers@gmail.com.

We help prepare you for leadership by serving on various committees and boards of the church. We have open positions in ministry, planning, outreach, and Christian education. If you are interested in honing your leadership skills, or developing them, please speak with the Pastor.

Leadership Development

Choir Rehearsal

The Pioneer Choir presents music of a great variety of styles – Gregorian chant, Renaissance polyphony, traditional spirituals, brand-new choral anthems, and more. Rehearsals are at 6:30 on Thursdays in our choir room. New singers are welcome anytime. Music-reading skills are helpful, but not required. Choir rehearsal begins on Thursday, September 5.

Bell Choir Rehearsal

Pioneer Bells rehearses on Tuesdays at 6:30 in our choir room, and presents some of the rich repertoire of music for bell choir in worship services – and occasionally in front of the church, serenading Sutter’s Fort Park!

Thank You!

A special thank you goes to Pat H. for organizing the Giving Tree. We thank Randy for the food and Vi for setting up for Fellowship Hour. We also thank Randy for assembling this week's unhoused meal sack lunches. Thank you!

Mission Statement

Connecting people with God’s love. Sharing a safe place to belong. Serving our community and beyond.

AA Recovery Support

AA currently meets throughout the week in our church. They meet every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM in Fellowship Hall or the Parlor.

Compassion Fund

Once a month, we collect an offering on Sunday that supports our local mission efforts. We provide the unhoused sack lunches, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, and hand-warmers. We also offer no-interest loans to church members and friends and family of church members.
