Bible Study

We offer several opportunities to dive into faith and Bible study. First, we have an evening Bible study class that meets every Monday night at 7:00 PM in the Church Parlor. Newcomer Jake Hodge is leading the studies. Jake is pursuing his PhD in English Literature at UC Davis. His dissertation is on the American Theology of Song. Jakes leads the Bible study on the preceding Sunday Scripture lesson(s) used on Sunday. Please come with your favorite Bible translation and an open mind. This is a wonderful way to dig into the Christian faith and its traditions and teachings.

Beginning on Tuesday, March 28 at 12:00 Noon, our Brown Bag Bible study provides a look at the upcoming Sunday lessons taught by the pastor. This class meets for one hour to discuss, ask questions, and get more familiar with the biblical texts.

During the week, the pastor livestreams a devotion on Facebook called Facebook Church every Wednesday at 12:00 Noon on his personal Facebook page. Each devotion looks to the upcoming Sunday Scripture lesson. Simply befriend him to watch each episode.

On the 4th Sunday of the month, the pastor hosts a Sermon Talkback discussion group following Sunday worship in Fellowship Hall. This is another opportunity to dig into the biblical text, to ask any question of faith and formation, and to better understand the choices the pastor and music director make each Sunday regarding the music, sermon, and service.

And in all of our Life Group ministries, we discuss our faith and Scriptures to find how to best live out our faith journeys. We believe studying Scriptures, both by reading the Bible and studying faith stories, are important ways to cultivate one’s spiritual journeys. If you are interested in participating in our various Bible studies, please contact the Pastor.
